Dave Brooks very special Starlet KP62 has undergone an AE86 conversion, using a lightly tuned 1600cc 4A-GE engine with mild camshafts and twin 40 DCOE carburettors to produce 143bhp. The engine also has a 4 branch manifold and a custom stainless centre exit exhaust.

The power is fed via a Helix cerametalic clutch and Fidanza flywheel to the AE86 gearbox with a TRD quickshift and on to the AE86 five link rear axle and a Kaaz 2 way LSD.

The steering benefits from a high ratio steering rack and the suspension is coilover with Superpro bushes all round. Wheels are Ultralite with Toyo R888 tyres.

Brakes are upgraded AE86 with Black Diamond discs and pads.

The bodyshell is extremely clean condition for its age and has a bolt in full roll cage, Cobra seats, TRS harness, Momo steering wheel, hydraulic handbrake, FIA cut off switch. The fuel tank and battery are relocated to the boot and all brake and fuel lines are inside.

The car is regularly used in the Toyota Sprint Series and won its class in 2009 and also came a very creditable 4th overall against much more powerful machinery.

Dave is back in for the 2010 series and is on a mission to retain his title, more information on the sprint series can be found here www.toyotasprint.com
