SUPERFLEX BETTER BY DESIGN

SuperFlex are not merely copies of the original rubber bushes. They are individually designed to take full advantage of the special characteristics of polyurethane - its durability, and exceptional friction-absorbing capability - not hitherto attainable with rubber. Critical crush, pre-load, and location factors are calculated to achieve positive, responsive driver feedback which complements a vehicle's roadholding capability - coupled with ride refinement. Firmness ranges between 70 and 95 Shore-A, to best suit the individual application. Sophisticated casting techniques maintain the consistency and accuracy that put SuperFlex bushes - and the resultant quality of handling that you'll experience - in a class of their own.

THE KEY IS RESILIENCE SuperFlex polyurethane suspension bushes are shiny, and have a firm rubber-like resilience you can actually feel. They embody the best features of rubber (the elimination of noise, vibration, and harshness) while still retaining the toughness and durability of plastic or metal. Resilience is the secret and the real benefit. SuperFlex are very different from the inferior injection-moulded bushes of limited resilience that others, from time to time, have attempted to market. Beware. They're inclined to give a hard ride, and almost gave polyurethane a bad name. Fortunately they are easily recognised by their dull appearance. They also feel hard and unyielding - hardly elastomeric - and can be difficult to fit.

TOUGHNESS SuperFlex bushes have an extremely high tension- and compression-bearing capacity. This enables them to be lighter, thinner, more durable than rubber bushes, while still retaining their superior strength.

RESISTANCE SuperFlex bushes are inherently resistant to deterioration and swelling, even when in regular contact with oil, greases, waxes, and most other chemicals. So they will never perish.

FRICTION Unlike rubber bushes, SuperFlex polyurethane bushes are designed to function rather like a bearing, allowing the suspension to move more freely around its pivot point - thus preventing wind-up. The microscopic release of self-lubricating polymers enables SuperFlex bushes to absorb all friction without the aid of a lubricant, throughout their long life. This, combined with their high load bearing capability, and outstanding abrasion resistance, makes them ideal for practically any vehicle - especially where other bushes are marginal. SuperFlex polyurethane bushes will not roll and peel away like rubber. Indeed their superior performance is already proven in over 1400 automotive applications.

THERMO-ELASTICITY SuperFlex bushes have the exceptional ability to perform in extreme temperatures, as high as 90°C and as low as minus 60°C.

IMPROVED STABILITY SuperFlex bushes are designed to give improved location at pivot points, helping to stabilise suspension geometry during cornering, braking and acceleration. SuperFlex bushes are designed with substantial side location shoulders which eliminate any axial displacement problems. SuperFlex bushes have a hardness range of 70 - 95 Shore-A, depending on the application (some 10-35 points higher than the average rubber bush). This significantly improves location, with little or no sacrifice of ride comfort.

REFINEMENT In racing, where rules allow, and even on the road, bushes with virtually no compliance (such as hard nylatron, needle roller, or rose joints) have been used. This practice can cause serious loss of refinement due to noise transmission into the car, not to mention the extra stress it places on the other components. Even a slight impact might result in a broken or bent suspension arm. SuperFlex bushes are a much safer alternative, giving good location, and a degree of protective compliance on impact. In fact, many advantages without the disadvantages. SuperFlex bushes will accommodate wider variations in the production tolerances of the original suspension bush housing than hard nylatron, and require no machining after fitting.

PRICING SuperFlex bushes were originally pioneered to provide superior performance for the forward-thinking enthusiast, quality being the only criterion. Yet today, SuperFlex bushes actually cost less than many original equipment rubber bushes. Even when this is not the case, the small extra cost is more than compensated by the substantial savings on labour costs due to less frequent replacement - making SuperFlex a far better investment. A word of caution: many of the rubber bushes available today are cheap reproductions, which can further compound any previous wear problems.

FULL WARRANTY SuperFlex bushes carry a full 2-year road-use warranty from date of purchase, subject to production of the supplier's invoice.
